Ragnar Relays in Full Swing

August 28, 2012

The HERA Ragnar Relay entries are sold out for 2012!  Thanks to HERA’s longtime friends at Petzl, this very creative and fun opportunity is set to raise almost $20,000 in 2012 for HERA.  Petzl donated entries to each of the Ragnar Relays to HERA, and these teams are taking part in the fundraising challenge.  The team that raises the most money in 2012 will win a team entry to the Ragnar Relay of their choice in 2013.  Game on!

Ragnar is the overnight running relay race that makes testing your limits a team sport. Teams are made up of 12 individuals; each individual runs 3 legs. The legs of the race vary in difficulty and distance, from 3-8 miles, allowing elite and novice runners to run together. Over 2 days and 1 night, teams run across 200 miles of the country’s most scenic terrain. Pair that with crazy costumes, inside jokes, a great finish line party and unforgettable stories. Some call it a slumber party without sleep, pillows or deodorant. We call it Ragnar.

Petzl has been one of HERA’s most generous and long-standing partners, and the Ragnar entries present a unique opportunity to raise funds to fight ovarian cancer.  Petzl also provided really cool “Team HERA” shirts for each participant:  in teal, of course!

Thanks to Petzl and all of the Ragnar teams supporting HERA!
