Julia Niles

Julia's enthusiasm for the mountains cannot be contained. She has climbed El Capitan six times and soloed the Snaz (IV 5.10) in four hours car-to-car. She has acquired her AMGA Rock Guide certification and is continuing on the arduous road of becoming a fully certified IFMGA Mountain Guide. She has guided numerous peaks spanning from Denali in the north to Aconcagua in the south. After recovering from a surgery that removed a tumor along with half of her left lung in February 2006, she made a hearty comeback by being the first woman to onsight-solo the Grand Traverse of the Tetons in one day and being part of the first all-woman duo to ski the Grand Teton. Julia is thrilled to be a part of HERA events and giving back in any way she
can.
