HERA Ovarian Cancer Climb for LifeSM Smith Rocks Pro Athletes Steph Davis  Steph Davis started rock climbing in Washington D.C. in 1990. Since then, she has set standards in all aspects of the sport. On the rock she consistently on-sights 5.12, red-points 5.13 on both traditional and sport routes, and has free-soloed 5.11+ cracks. Steph balances her love for free climbing with a need for diversity, and big climbs in remote places. Her list of adventures and first ascents include big walls, high altitude rock routes and alpine climbs in Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Baffin Island and Patagonia. When Steph isn't climbing or training, she is writing, taking photos or trail running with her dog Fletcher around Moab, Utah. Last winter, she completed her goal of climbing all seven of the major peaks in Patagonia's Fitz Roy Range. In addition to being the first American woman to summit Fitz Roy, her five-year-project has included climbs on Guillaumet and Poincinot (two of the seven major peaks) two times each, with a first ascent on Poincinot. I began climbing in 1987 at the age of three. By the age of six, I was red-pointing 5.12's, competing very successfully, and earned my first climbing shoe sponsorship. At the age of nine, I red-pointed my first 5.13a, by 14, I red-pointed my first 5.14a, and by 16, I did the first ascent of a 5.14c. I have climbed in several states of the U.S. including California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, Texas, and Kentucky, as well as internationally including Mexico, Spain, England, France, and Germany. I have recently started my full-time professional rock climbing career with the goal of becoming the best rock climber in the world.
