The competition is heating up! Who’s going to be the top fundraising team at the 2012 Climb4Life DC? Will it be the Maryland Blue Tail Bettys, or the Sportrock team? Potomac Mountain Club or REI Rocks? So far, almost $8600 has been raised by the DC Climb4Life participants: thanks to everyone who’s donated and let’s keep it going! The top fundraising team will win some cool prizes and get to take home the coveted Stanley Award.
So, who is Stanley anyway? The Stanley Award was created by HERA founder, Sean Patrick. When she started Climb4Life in 2001, she was told that people would donate to a rock climbing event when pigs flew. Well, some 11 years later, the Climb4Life events are still going strong and raising lots of awareness about ovarian cancer and lots of funds for HERA. And, Stanley, the flying pig award, is still going strong, too.
It’s not too late to register and get in on the fun. Climb4Life DC kicks off Friday, July 13. Click here to register now. Or, donate to your favorite participant and help their team give Stanley a new home.
